CND was formed in 1957 and since that time has periodically been at the forefront of the peace movement in the UK. It claims to be Europe's largest single-issue peace campaign. Since 1959, it has organised the Aldermaston March, which is held over the Easter weekend from the Atomic Weapons Establishment near Aldermaston to Trafalgar Square, London. The first Aldermaston March in 1958 went the other way (from London to Aldermaston) and was organised by the Direct Action Committee.

I have been thinking lately, What is the difference between Ideas and Thoughts? 

How can you relate responses like; "I have no idea!" or "this is thoughtful" to a certain course of action? 


I don't believe that I will reach a conclusion about the difference between Ideas and Thoughts in a couple of days, but attempts always worth a shot. and that's what I figured out...


An Idea is a single image, not necessarily clear, it can be an abstract or a vague photo of something, you can describe it in a word or two. Like the idea of Flying. I believe the image was a bird spreading its wings in a clear blue sky, or heading towards the sun in a beautiful sunset in a tropical island. After an idea comes a Thought. A thought is a group of ideas arranged together with a slight relation. 

Back to our previous Example:

Flying as an Idea: FLOATING IN THE AIR.

I always hear the term "GOOD IDEA" and the worse term "BAD IDEA". 

This needs correction according to the theory I've just written. There is no such thing as a described idea, no Good Ideas, no Bad Ideas, but there is a Good Thought, and a Bad Thought. HOW?
Ideas are images, fixed points, but Thoughts can be manipulated, drove, and drooled according to ones needs and desires.

Taking the previous Example (again): 

Abbas Ben-Fernas decided to fly, he fixed two wings made of stems, and feather and jumped of a high place.
the result was his epic failure. 
(bad thought)  
The Wright Bros decided to fly, they made a number of attempts till they made it. knowing that, they were bicycle makers, they applied mechanism to their Ride.  
(good thought)

Artists need Creative Ideas to initiate their Thoughts and create/process Art. 

John Cleese said, "you have to have two things to motivate your creativity, boundaries of Space, and boundaries of Time." 

He explained, Boundaries of Space as a place where you can't get interrupted, disturbed or intruded by external factors (Like, getting inside your room and close the door with a sign on the door that you're busy), and Boundaries of Time as a time limitation to the initiation of ideas (like, setting the clock from 12:00 pm till 1:00 pm to initiate ideas.)

Certificates Vs. Education

*This happens where I come from, my dear Egypt. 

I prefer to call myself a knowledgeable person than an educated person - 

A very absurd phenomenon happened to people with the evolution of mass communication, and the fierce competition between candidates. We find a person unqualified for a desk job because he's not good at sports, or because she's too pretty, or because he's fat, black, white, veiled, ... etc. 

Then we find qualifications are exceeding that, you have to know a couple of languages, even if you know your native and the worldwide English language and you have to have soft skills, and have experience more than 3 years, othertime 5 years experience, you can be experienced for a year but NO! it's not enough. When I graduate and look for a job, where should I start if everyone is seeking 3 - 5 years expertise? 

"They want the best"

but they fall in the wrong choices

So, people find themselves under pressure, and they start gathering "certificates" even though they don't know much about the material of classes they have attended or have passed. They have studied for an exam and bought the certificate. 

"They need certificates, you need a job. it's a solved equation (x = y = 1)."

I remember my most "stupid" debate with one of my class mates, and we were arguing whether we should do the rituals of every year with one of our professors. The rituals were simply like this, we buy him a bouquet of flowers that range from EGP 200 to EGP 300 and we get good grades and pass the class.

I said that we shouldn't do such a thing  and we shouldn't give him the chance to be lazy, arrogant, and over confident about his material and he should look thoroughly at what he teaches because we don't understand his class that's why we would probably fail without the bouquet. My mate had a different opinion, "We want to pass!" that's what he literally told me. 

At the time we prefer passing a class than getting real education that might help us at some point in our lives, career, or else, people out there in the "real" world get real education and use people like us to do archive work. 

People rush to classes, courses, outside/inside universities to get certificates, not to get educated, not to learn something new - just to get a filthy job to stay stuck in it their whole life till they die. I prefer to lose chances to get certificates than to kill the knowledge seeker inside. And I know I am losing, but I seek valued benefit not fake signed papers. 

"I refuse to kill the knowledge seeker inside."

I hope one day someone would share this vision with me, to change wrong  actions, and value knowledge.  

 

 

شحاته على الطراز المصرى

رؤيه شخصيه لربما كانت متطرفه. كل مره كنت بمشى فى الشارع مع امى و تيجى شحاته مثلا سنها 17 - 19 سنه كانت دايما امى ترد عليها - شوفى شغل بدل مانتى عماله تضايقى فى الرايح و الجاى بيوت كتيره محتاجين الناس القدك يساعدوهم فى شغل البيت.

مع انتشار ظاهره الشحاته و القصص عن الناس البتقطع اطرافها عشان تصعب على الناس الرايحه و الجايه و الناس البتدور على فتات الجيوب فى الحقيقه ليست الطبقه التحت خط الفقر. انها طبقه تتغلغل فى طبقات معينه من المجتمع و تقبع فى هذه المجتمعات تحت عقليه الكسل و الجهل. و احنا بنعمل ايه؟ بنساعدهم لكى يزيدوا كسلا و جهلا.

كنت قاعد على قهوه فى الثامن و جت بنت عمرها 9 سنوات تقريبا. معندهاش غير جمله "هات اى حاجه" و ماسكه فى ايدها مقلمه تشخشخ الفكه بها (ربنا يزيدها فكه لحد يقول بحسد) - اسراء بعد مهاترات كثيره عرفت ان ابوها و امها قاعدين فى البيت و منزلينها هى و اخوتها الاتنين يشحتوا فى منطقه التامن و مكرم عبيد عشان يرجعولهم بالفكه و من القالته اسراء .. والديها معندهمش مشاكل جسديه تمنعهم من ممارسه اى مهنه.
فتحظى هذه الطفله بولا حاجه - لأنها لا تذهب الى المدرسه فا مش هتتعلم اى حاجه و هتفضل طول عمرها فى الشارع تشحت لحد ما يجى يوم ما تسرق او تقتل او تغتصب.

قصه اخرى لشحاته طفله عند سنتر من نفس المنطقه - لكن بجمله اخرى "هات ربع جنيه" - المتكلمه الصغيره قالت لفظ "سجره" (شجره يعنى) فبقلها شجره بالشين. قالت "فى بلدنا اسمها شجره" و طلعت من المنوفيه. طب ايه اليجيب بنت عمرها 8 سنوات مثلا من المنوفيه عشان تشحت فى مكرم عبيد؟

تقريبا رجع زمن العبيد. يشتروا العيال دي او يخطفوهم و يجبوهم يشحتوا فى احياء القاهره. و الله أعلم.

الحل: اننا منديش اى حد فلوس و لو عاوزين نطلع صدقات نطلعها فى مكانها الحقيقى. الجنيه الانت بطلعه بيزود الظاهره و يخلى الناس تزيد كسل و جهل.

و يا ريت الحكومه تشوف حل للموضوع ده.

MEASURING SYSTEMS

Years, places, languages, height, width, are modernized to classify people by other people, make things more complicated towards the benefit of some group or groups of people - Old, new, mad, sane, wise, dumb, genius, tall, short, fat, fast, slow, fashion, beauty - cold classifications.

*RARENESS IS THE DEVIL. 
We all know about Greenhouse effect. And how did the global warming is placing all doubts and fear concerning the world in one pocket; Are we going to make it? World is trying to reduce what industrial countries made to the world. The want became a need and the demand took maximum rates, even saturation levels became above 100% which sounded weird at first but now it reaches to 500% - maybe more. The more we want the more industries grow, the more factories are built, the more pollution it causes. 


We have had a transitional state in few decades, when the notes started appearing with their pale colors, and soft sense. It caused all the problems. Re-definition of names took place -  Rare became "precious", and people in need became "poor", people who have more money, gold, "rare" materials are the "rich" ones, It became materialistic world. The more you want, the more factories are built, the more pollution caused, and the problem gets larger and larger.


In Africa they do a better thing which I don't really understand. Civil War takes place in many countries in the area, though Africa is the main source of "rare" materials, they starve to death, kill each others, lack education, weak, poor, and any other term that might describe a hopeless case. Instead of taking care of those countries, industrial world does better things to them, they hand them used-old-unwanted machinery to eliminate each others in return of "rare" materials. At the time industrial world, cause pollution in African countries, because they KNOW what pollution might cause them, African people look between their feet to search for diamond. but the news came tragic; 
It happens to go this way; We all live in serendipity, or we all die. That's what the earth tell us, and did we get the message?! 

Project Human

Purpose: Increasing human capability to lead and achieve something big for his country. 
Type: Supposed to be governmental project. 


Pick a number (e.g 10) of human beings who seem to be adventurous, risk takers, brave, wise, and smart. Their ages should vary from 10 to 15 years. 


Teach them basic survival skills, Martial arts, Camping, Hiking, ... Whatever a man can need to survive in woods/desert. 


Project Human: 

• Teach them sciences, geography, history and cultures. 
• Teach them soft skills (e.g Presentation skills, Leadership, Managerial ethics, different languages, music, ... etc.) 
• After years of teaching, (e.g 5 to 7 years), you will send each one of those humans to a part of the world, different country in a different continent. 

The basic concept of this project is to prepare leaders for your country, who are educated enough, seen enough, felt enough, who can survive with their countries and lift it up. 

Planting in each and everyone of them how to be the right person for the task will make them the right people for the right tasks. 

The studies I picked for them. 

Science: It gives you a wider perspective of how things can go around you. 

History: It prepares you to withstand the future with a vision. 

Geography: Gives them a higher sense of time and place. 

Cultures: It will give them the chance to change the wrong in the country's culture, Bring new cultures that they see it worth spreading. 

Soft Skills: To make leaders out of them, who can take actions in the right way, and lead people to the right direction. 

Music & Art: You want humans not brutal Beings. Music & Art give humans taste to what's good and beautiful. 

Language: It gives fluency to the tongue, it adds to the presentation skills.

The leadership I mean is not necessarily the type of leadership seen today, the leadership I mean is the kind of leadership through any sort of communication. Internet, Mass Communication, Multimedia, Creative directing, Inventing, ... etc. 

The purpose is to lead, to be, and to overcome problems that people rarely love to face. Creating a brave league of gentlemen & ladies.

Project Horoscope.

This idea came to me when I was talking about Horoscopes to a friend. 


Basically, Horoscopes & their reality measures depend on our readings as kids, saving the data about our horoscopes in our subconscious and unintentionally getting it back through our daily life when we grow a little older (e.g Leos start maintaining a leadership skill, presentation skills, and influencing strategies as they are supposed to be Leaders.) 
Through the mix of knowledge and the characters - one supposed to be according to one's readings - those skills are maintained unintentionally. Exactly the same as your desire to be something, or to maintain something, when you can, you get it, be it and/or maintain it. 


Project Horoscope: -totally crazy but I need to document it.- 


Convince a newly born baby that he was born in another time, (e.g If he was born a sag. convince the baby when he gets a bit older that he's a virgo/cancer/leo/... whatever.) 


How? That's simple. By changing his birth date, I dun think it would matter if it was written in his birth certificate that he was born a month later.


This will drive the kid to look at another horoscope and subconsciously save the so-called wrong data. 


And for the rest of the kid's life, Observe actions done, decisions taken, the way he/she talks, walks, eats, drinks. 


Will he/she return to the original zodiac sign, or will he/she become the new sign you planted in the kid's head. 

Forgetting what matters and loving the Material.

In hopping words between spaces one forgets what one's made of and what one's made for. The hideous state of loving what the vision records became the prior to one. Insect-like, being attracted by glitters and rarity. By strong furniture, by fancy cars, by life. Marriage became the point of break-even. The point where you spend all your hard-work, night shifts, your rough skin, and black hollows around your eyes for one to live with a long-lasting relationship. Does material preserve happiness?

Future

Future will be sooner or later. 

People don't get that clicking all the lifts, leaving the tape half closed, television open, fan, ACs on is taking a lot of energy. 

You say some things are renewable. What if water dried, air stopped, turbines stopped working, what if the oil needed for turbines has finished, gas has finished. Will we perish? MAYBE. 

We might die before this happens, but why should we punish next generations on mistakes we made? Have you ever thought of your grandson studying on candles because you have used all natural gas in using your tv while no one was sitting, or when they are so dry, and the AC is not working because there is no electricity. No water to drink, cows died, no meat in market. Going back to dark ages because we made a mistake, clicking more than one lift, leaving tv open, speeding with our cars. Just having fun. 

Stop using more than your need, and start thinking of new solutions. 

Humanize Earth. 

What changes things.

Sometimes, you change your habits for certain reasons, only you know. You keep a secret to yourself and try to keep it that way. When great changes come everyone ask what'd happened, their questions grow more and more concerning about your health, education, family, they just don't get why did this change happen. Nothing is .. it just happened or I became a new person - Something happened.

I changed several times in my life, but the 2 great changes that have great impact on me till present are the 2 break-ups I ran through. The first breakup is briefed in a permanent change in my hairstyle. Cutting it really short, the reason behind that I wanted to change my look for 2 reason. I didn't want her to know me anymore, and  I don't want to keep something she liked so much. 

The second breakup was quite a shock for me, Though I really loved a lot of things about her, I hated her weak personality and dramatic scenes. Acting the "right" way concerned her so much that she acted in a total different way. Assuming everything gonna go in a bad way, drove everything to a bad way, finally to the brink. It ended in a really bad way from both sides, because I don't accept disrespect, I disrespected her. But I apologized for what I did. 

When I talk about the changes she did to me. Things went in a good way, others went in a bad way. She taught me that things can never go the way you want them. She taught me that family is the most important thing in your life, and you should cherish every moment you spend with them, and how to respect them and treat them right. She showed me stuff about myself that I didn't know, and if she was with me now. I would have loved her to see me in my happy moments. Things went in the other way too. Being dramatic all the time, suspicious, assuming things, believing her assumptions drove her to assume that I no longer love her, and made her break up with me, though this wasn't true. 

We can blame circumstance, or one of us, or all of those. But I think we should blame bad habits and bad decisions we made that drove our relationship to hell.

Every little thing in your life teach you something. If we only think what that thing is, we will learn a lot.

I have been working for 2 weeks now, non stop. Planning to make an online magazine with EYE's publications and newsletter team.
Starting the new company with my friends, the Idea Factory. Being the Creative Director is all about hard work due to lack of organizing, lack of money and others we are having tough times. But it's going to be alright.

Chrome Mafia

My laptop's processor is (literally) screwed. Everything freeze within every passing 5 minutes. and Google Chrome keeps telling me KILL pages! I don't want to kill them (barbaric mofo).


If you can help me out with any tips, it would be highly appreciated. I have tried disk cleanup, uninstalling all the unused programs, and I dunno what am I supposed to do more than that!

Cilantro

Tuesday, Sep 6th. 

Cairo, Egypt. 

Sitting in Cilantro, in the afternoon. They were playing some Mexican/Spanish wild annoying music. A debate aroused about the origins of "Cilantro" the famous Coffee Shop in Egyptian middle class suburbs. 

People say it's Italian, others say it's French. Others argue on the pronunciation of the name "Cilantro" if it's "She-lan-tro" or "Si-lan-tro". I couldn't connect any of those to the horrible music they were playing, I searched for the origins, and found out that "Cilantro" is an Egyptian Extinct Coffee Shop using a European name of a plant.

a motorway to your "dreams"

We all have goals and dreams that we want to achieve. Sometimes we forget them, leave them by us, or grow up w/o those goals. We passed by them because we didn't follow the right road, we didn't frame them. Our minds process ideas and those ideas turn into dreams. They stay in your memory for not too long as they are lucid. 
Before your forget your dream write it down to give them greater clarity, giving you a room for better insights and awareness into how to achieve them. and don't forget a time frame, it will initiate you to start & complete what you desire. Reviewing them over and over again will help you move ahead overcoming all the obstacles which stumble you, & keep your enthusiasm and optimism high. 
As long as those dreams didn't experience the power of sense, they will never be real. So the next time you get an idea popping - write it down in a journal/notebook and keep this notebook with you all time safely because you will have to review it later on. Use your senses. 
Encourage yourself. Motivate your will. No one will do this for you. 


Dreams are fragile, treat them carefully.

Villain

In time every kid in the world chose the Hero to be his character, I chose the villain. It takes more balls to be a villain. The joker for example, a wrecked guy, mental, who's a master plan and he succeeds to fuck batman's brain out. Goblin in spiderman's. Even Robin Hood. He was the OUTLAW. 

The villain is smarter, more powerful, more foxy and interesting on so many levels. Meanwhile, the hero is kicking everyone's asses. 

It takes more balls to be a bad guy because you normally go against your nature (the good nature.) 

Art of Typography

I couldn't find an art simpler or more brilliant than Typography. Understanding is the main challenge designers face when they start forming lines and curves to form shapes that resemble certain letters.

The first Wayfarer was designed by American optical Raymond Stegeman in year 1952 and was manufactured by Ray-Ban in 1956. the wayfarer trend faded away after about 20 years. Ray-Ban designed a new line and launched it in the mid-2000s and there was the revival.

Wayfarers are cited as the best-selling design of shades in history (sometimes).
